HSA Clearing News

Lake Geneva, WI (PRWEB) May 29, 2008 -- HSA Clearing Corp, the leader in complete and affordable turn key Health Savings Account programs, will be offering their free HSA Set-Up webinars this summer for Credit Unions.

"Our summer series of webinars has been extremely successful the last two years, and we will continue our HSA Set-Up webinars this year. A large percentage of group health insurance programs are renewed each year during the fall open enrollment season. If Credit Unions have their HSA programs ready to go by the fall, they will have an excellent opportunity to capture new HSA deposits from both existing and potential members. It is essential they be ready to activate their program in a short time, and these institutions are looking to HSA Clearing Corp because we can get them up and running in a matter of days without spending a lot of time and money on a costly integration program" said Tim Morales, President of HSA Clearing Corp.

HSA Clearing Corp will detail: how easy it is to have their Credit Union set up in just a few days to offer HSAs to their members; why it is important to offer investment options; why there is difference in using HSA Financial and other providers and what is the credit union ROI? Attendees will also hear success stories from Credit Unions that are already using HSA Clearing Corp's HSA program.

"Mr. HSA" Roy Ramthun, Senior VP will explain to the credit unions how Health Savings Accounts work and exactly what responsibilities the Credit Union will have for an HSA program.
Prior to joining HSA Clearing Corp, Mr. Ramthun was the senior health policy advisor to President George W. Bush regarding health care issues involving the Internal Revenue Code primarily Health Savings Accounts. Before joining the President's staff, Mr. Ramthun was the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for health initiatives. In this role, he led Treasury's implementation of Health Savings Accounts after they were enacted into law in December, 2003.

A recent study by America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) of U.S. health insurance carriers shows that the number of people covered by health savings account/high-deductible health plans (HSA/HDHPs) totaled 6.1 million in January 2008. This report shows that the HSA program is working and growing across the country.

Offering Health Savings Accounts provides an excellent opportunity for credit unions to capture part of this growing market.

The free, one-hour webinars will be offered on Thursday June 5th at 11:00 am CST and 3:00 pm CST and Tuesday, June 24th at 11:00 am CST or 3:00 pm CST. Dates for the July and August webinars will be announced. This program is for Credit Union personal only, please.

To sign up for one of the HSA Clearing Corp Credit Union free webinar, please visit the special website www.hsacreditunion.com or call 262-348-1300 for more information or questions.

Lake Geneva, WI (PRWEB) May 5, 2008 -- HSA Clearing Corp, the nation's leading provider of turn-key Health Savings Account solutions for banks and credit unions, announces it is adding INSNET, LLC to its list of providers as an advocate to help consumers save money on their medical bills.

"The key to offering a successful HSA program is providing the educational tools and money -saving products for the consumer, now that they are spending their own money on their healthcare", said Tim Morales of HSA Clearing Corp. "HSA Clearing Corp has always been on the forefront of this model, and INSNET offers a product we think people need. INSNET will review a person's medical bill as low as $200. Any amount they can save the customer means that customer will keep more of their hard -earned money in their HSA. We have negotiated a special discounted price for our clients, and will also offer this service through HSA Trustee Services (www.hsatrusteeservices.com). We know that our financial institutions will want to offer this service to their customers or members. Not only does it save the consumer money, but it helps keep the HSA deposit balance higher."

Since 1985, Insurance Negotiating Service (INS) has saved insurance companies and self funded employers millions of dollars by negotiating medical claims. Now the same service insurance companies have used for decades is available to individuals. INSNET was created to help empower individuals by helping control their out- of -pocket medical expenses. INSNET is the consumer's safety NET.

With today's shift toward more Consumer Driven Health Plans, INSNET is a much- needed patient advocate. For decades health insurance companies have attempted to lower costs. More recently, medical providers are becoming more aggressive with patient balances by eliminating payment plans and partnering with large financial institutions. Both the insurance and healthcare industries are taking steps to remain profitable, often at the expense of the individual patient.

Avoid paying 'sticker price' on medical bills. Thanks to numerous resources, individuals know the difference between MSRP, invoice and dealer cost before they shop for a new car. These resources are rarely available for consumers when it comes to their medical bills. To maintain Medicare accreditation, a medical provider must agree to bill each patient the same amount for the same procedure. Most times the provider does not collect what they bill. There are over 6,000 health plans in the United States. Each may have contracts in place with some of the 850,000 US medical providers. Therefore, each doctor or hospital may have between 5 and 100 reimbursement rates for the same procedure!

Claims can easily be input on their secure website www.myinsnet.com. Once a User Profile has been created, an individual can access their account and input additional claims. The individual can also check the status of the claim at any time. Claims can also be mailed, faxed or emailed to INSNET. Customers may also call 877-MYINSNET (694-6763) to speak with a patient advocate.

INSNET provides its review and negotiation services RISK FREE to the individual. If a savings is realized on a medical bill, INSNET charges a nominal fee from the amount saved. There is no fee if there is no savings! Any claim with a patient balance exceeding $200 is eligible to be sent for review and negotiation.

Once a new claim is input into the INSNET database, the charges are compared to other claims in the geographic area the services were provided. Once the new claim has been analyzed in the database, a trained negotiator reviews it as well. If the charges are excessive, the negotiator will contact the medical provider and attempt to settle the patient balance for a more reasonable amount.

HSA Clearing Corp is the nationwide leader in setting up banks and credit unions to offer Health Savings Accounts/HSA with their turnkey HSA setup program, allowing the HSA monies to be deposited locally to better benefit the community. HSA Clearing Corp offers a full line of investment options for financial institutions using brokersXpress and HSA Financial.
